Convoy partnered with Chestnut Hill College to conceptualize and launch a sophisticated brand-new website and architecture. We began with in-depth marketing research to strategically position the new site for student recruitment and engagement. This research informed our comprehensive design process, which included detailed wireframing and the creation of high-fidelity visual prototypes using Figma. Our services extended to a complete content strategy and copywriting effort, ensuring the message was as impactful as the design. The project culminated in the development of a completely custom WordPress theme, providing CHC with a powerful, flexible, and fully branded platform.

Convoy partnered with VCU Investment Management Company (VCIMCO) to design, build, and launch a new, professionally refined website on the Squarespace platform. Our goal was to create a modern look that reflects the organization’s experience and professionalism by utilizing new page layouts and video. We began with a thorough Content Review and Information Architecture phase, creating a logical content hierarchy and detailed wireframes for key pages to ensure intuitive visitor navigation. Following client approval of the site structure, we executed the Visual Design and Development directly within Squarespace, adhering to VCIMCO’s existing brand guidelines, and handled all content migration. The project concluded with comprehensive testing across all devices, site usage training, and a successful final launch.

Convoy partnered with Mary Baldwin University (MBU) to immediately address and finalize the launch of their newly developed website in August 2023. Taking the site live in October 2023, our initial engagement focused on resolving significant UX issues and ensuring brand consistency across critical third-party software integrations. Following the successful launch, we have provided ongoing, dedicated site stewardship, including regular WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates, as well as prompt content updates. Since then, we have significantly enhanced the platform by implementing new, custom-built features that have been met with enthusiasm by the MBU Communications team. Our work also included migrating the entire platform to enterprise-level Kinsta hosting, implementing robust 2-factor authentication to harden security, and integrating essential third-party services like Form Assembly, LibGuides, and Localist.

Convoy partnered with UVA Health to design and develop UVA Connect, their internal news and communications platform. Our primary goal was to create a digital experience that was both visually engaging and technically efficient for their internal audience. We developed a completely custom WordPress theme leveraging WordPress Blocks to empower the communications team with flexible, modern content layouts. The site was built with custom post types and fields to organize diverse content, prioritizing fast page loading times and a design that effectively showcases high-quality photography across all articles and features.

Convoy partnered with DemCap Analytics to conceptualize, brand, and build a comprehensive, interactive web-based platform dedicated to the analysis of democracy, capitalism, and their intersection. We developed a proprietary suite of educational resources and a robust analysis tool built with ReactJS that allows users to access and analyze hundreds of datasets from over 30 leading global sources, including the World Bank, IMF, Federal Reserve, and various think tanks. The platform is powered by a custom-built API and a specialized backend system that allows for seamless import and management of diverse data sources into the central database, providing users with a unique, powerful, and consolidated research utility.

Convoy partnered with the UVA Arts Box Office to develop a new online presence centered around a powerful user experience and vibrant branding. The project began with detailed wireframing and high-fidelity design to create an intuitive and visually engaging interface. We developed a completely custom WordPress theme featuring a modern design that showcases the brand’s distinctive and colorful palette. Most critically, the site includes seamless integration with the Tessitura ticketing system, ensuring a streamlined and effective purchasing path for patrons.

Convoy partnered with the University of Texas to optimize and streamline the management of their existing Cost of Attendance Calculator WordPress plugin. The original system required UT staff to manually update static JSON files for all cost data, an inherently inefficient process. Our solution involved developing custom backend features directly within the WordPress admin interface, using custom post types and custom fields to accurately reflect the complex data structure for tuition amounts and costs. This enhancement allows staff to manage all data through an intuitive graphical interface, making the process significantly easier and more reliable. We then created new JSON endpoints to serve this dynamically managed data and updated the front-end JavaScript to utilize these new endpoints. We also added import/export functionality to the plugin, providing a simple way to back up and migrate all calculator data via a single JSON file.

Convoy partnered with the UVA Darden School of Business to replace their outdated blog platform with a robust, modern system on a WordPress Multisite platform. This new Custom Content Management System (CMS) now aggregates and showcases diverse content from the Career Center, Admissions, Executive Education, Global Initiatives, and the Batten Institute. Our project involved initial wireframing and the development of visual design mockups to deliver an exciting, editorial-like reading experience. The final product was a completely custom WordPress theme featuring responsive design, rigorous testing for cross-device compatibility, and validation for web accessibility, resulting in a powerful and significantly improved digital publication.
